16-time LPGA Tour winner Lydia Ko has since decided to put her name back in the field for the LPGA Pelican so that she can be eligible to win the Vare Trophy. After being unaware that skipping the Pelican would put her out of the Vare race. Recently, Ko withdrew from the LPGA’s Pelican Women’s Championship to prepare for the CME Group Tour Championship. She is one round shy of the necessary 70 needed to eligible for the Vare Trophy and she currently has 65 official rounds for the season. Ko eventually recommitted at LPGA Pelican thus giving her a chance to win the Vare, an award given to the player with the lowest scoring average for the season.
