Hideki Matsuyama's week could never get any worse, as the 2021 Masters winner made an epic quadruple-bogey 9 and then promptly withdrew following the round. Matsuyama's struggle began this past June at the Memorial Tournament, as he was approached by a rules official to check his equipment after a white substance had been spotted on the face of his 3-wood, eventually earning a disqualification. Matsuyama was 1 over through eight holes when he reached the 18th (his 9th of the day) at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota.
