Justin Thomas wins 2nd PGA Championship via playoff rounds over Will Zalatoris
Justin Thomas was facing a 7-shot deficit entering the final 18 holes at Southern Hills Country Club, but never gave in. Thomas won the PGA Championship for the second time (first in 2017) after defeating Will Zalatoris in a three-hole aggregate playoff. He shot four birdies in his last 10 holes in regulation to sign for a 3-under-par 67 to reach 5 under, eventually scoring another birdie the first 2 extra holes and added a tap-in par on the par-4 final hole to defeat Zalatoris by one shot. He also matched the largest comeback in PGA history which was done in 1978, where John Mahaffey was 7 shots back entering the final round before winning the 1978 event.
