Lydia Ko outlasts Danielle Kang for the 202 Gainbridge LPGA title
Lydia Ko avoided a sudden-death playoff with her good friend Danielle Kang, getting up and down for par and a victory in the 2022 Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio. Ko shot rounds of 63-70-72-69 for a 14-under-par 274 to earn her 17th career triumph. At the par-3 17th, Kang’s birdie putt stopped inches short of the hole and Ko two-putted for par. Eventually Kang had about a 20-footer to tie (at the 18th) but it slid just past the hole. Finished at 3rd was Yuka Saso who shot 5-under 67 and had some prolific birdies on the 17th and 18th holes.
