Avoid having a steep on angle on your golf swing

A steep swing plane is one of the most common faults among recreational golfers. Turning through the ball is a key component of a solid swing as too much turn can be a bad thing. Also, spinning too early makes the swing plane far too steep, and makes for an out-to-in swing path. You need to feel like you’re shifting your weight down and into your front foot during the transition. This helps keep your shoulders closed longer and does not allow the shaft to get steep on the downswing and instead, the club comes from the inside and creates more solid contact.
