Youngest golfer to advance to US Amateur quarterfinals? Nicholas Gross at 15

With a 4-and-3 win over Luke Potter on Thursday at Ridgewood Country Club, 15-year-old Nicholas Gross became the youngest player to advance to the U.S. Amateur quarterfinals since 2007. And he's that good to be competing with some of the big guns in golf. Gross says that he's feeling a bit anxious because of the fact that he wants to play well, but that clearly is called confidence. Dating it back 15 years ago, PGA Tour winner C.T. Pan became the youngest to win a Round of 16 match since the immortal Bobby Jones in 1916.
