The slice is perhaps the most common fault among high handicappers, and the first step to correcting a slice is understanding why the ball slices. Usually, a slice happens because of an open clubface relative to club path. According to top teacher Joe Plecker, the simple solution is by pushing more with your trail arm during the downswing. How? By using an alignment stick. Once you practice this properly, head out on the range and you'll notice that your shot shape is now in a straight line.
