Scott Parel leads at the Senior PGA Championship despite rain

Shooting a 4-under 66 by the end of the opening round, Scott Parel grabs the lead at the 2019 Senior PGA Championship held at Oak Hill Country Club, despite the rains causing delay. Parel, a former computer programmer/database administrator, made an eagle at the 4th hole followed by birdies on the 13th, 17th and 18th to claim the lead over Ken Tanigawa and Retief Goosen who both shot 67. Parel last won at the 2018 Invesco QQQ Championship under PGA Tour Champions.
