Sam Burns claims 4th PGA Tour victory, wins Charles Schwab Challenge
Sam Burns was typically not in the position to win after starting the day at 7 shots back. Then, Burns went to settle a playoff standoff against world #1 Scottie Scheffler, eventually dropping a 38-footer for birdie on the first extra hole, winning the 2022 Charles Schwab Challenge for his 4th PGA Tour win, his third this season. Burns then played the back at even, signed for a 5-under 65 that tied for the low round of the day, then pulled up a chair and watched. No one would expect that Burns was sitting back and watching it all (for about two hours), would win the event.
