Rory McIlroy to play for the first at the Italian Open
Just barely days after capturing his 3rd Tour Championship title, Rory McIlroy keeps himself busy as always. The 22-time PGA Tour winner is set to make his debut at the 2022 Italian Open held at the Marco Simone Golf Club, site of the 2023 Ryder Cup. McIlroy is also in position to win the DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai, the season-long points race as he’s currently in first by more than 300 points. Before winning last week's Tour Championship, McIlroy won last June at the RBC Canadian Open after defeating Tony Finau by 2 strokes.
