Players Championship: Tommy Fleetwoord scores 66 then shaves beard

The familiar beard of Tommy Fleetwood is missing as he walked the fairways of the Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. Fleetwood said that he was in a bad mood, but nevertheless scored a 6-under 66 in the opening round of the 2022 Players Championship and tied with Tom Hoge. Fleetwood failed to qualify for the FedEx Cup last year and has slipped to No. 49, wherein he once ranked at 9th in the Official World Golf Ranking. His opening round highlights include birdies at the two par-5s on his opening nine (11 and 16) and chipped in with his 60-degree wedge at 18 for birdie from 49 feet right of the green.
