Ukrainian golfer Misha Golod, who has captivated the golf world since escaping the war-torn country to the U.S. in March, isn’t too far behind, with only 3 shots off leader Caleb Surratt at the Terra Cotta Invitational in Naples, Florida. Surratt was 3 under before a bogey at #8, but bounced back with 3 straight birdies on #11-13 and added another at #15. Meanwhile, Golod was an honorary starter at the Players Championship shortly after coming to America, and then got to take in practice rounds at the Masters. He bogeyed 3 of his first 5 holes, but sank a 25-foot breaking birdie putt at #7, a par save at #8 and birdied 9 and 10 to get to even par.
