Lonnie Nielsen of PGA Tour Champions passes away at 67

2-time PGA Tour Champions winner Lonnie Nielsen passed away last week (January 20, 2021) at the age of 67 after succumbing to dementia. Nielsen also has 35 professional wins which includes a string of victories at the Western New York Open and Western New York PGA Match Play Championship. Born in Iowa, Nielsen was inducted into Iowa Golf's Hall of Fame in 2010 and into the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame in 2018. Nielson was survived by immediate family members including his wife, his 2 daughters and 1 son.
