Rory McIlroy wins in Nevada; claims the CJ Cup trophy

Rory McIlroy won the 2021 CJ Cup by shooting 25 under to beat Collin Morikawa by one, and will now jump to No. 8 in the world ranking. It is his 20th career win on the PGA Tour, another number that had been on his mind since winning in May, his 3rd Wells Fargo title. The win comes in McIlroy’s first event since the Ryder Cup, where he went winless before singles play and delivered an emotional interview to Sky Sports and Golf Channel. He is the 39th player ever to reach the 20-win threshold, and just the 6th to do it before turning 33 years old.
