PGA Tour pro apologizes for behavior at PGA Championship
Displaying a public outrage isn't new in golf and has been a common sight in almost every tournament. At the 2021 PGA Championship, Phil Mickelson won the major title but perhaps the other issue which was ‘food' for the moment was Erik Van Rooyen's behavior, smashing his tee marker at the 17th hole which again happened when he saw another marker eventually snapping off the head of his shaft, then missed the cut. Now with everything behind, Van Rooyen issued an apology via social media, admitting to his outrage and that it's ‘out of character' and ‘unacceptable.
