Whatever kind of bad vibe has thrown into Patrick Reed, he always seem to defy the odds. Reed has just won the 2021 Farmers Insurance Open with a 5-stroke victory on a total of 14-under 274. This win of Reed came with controversy and it came during the 3rd round, wherein he obtained free relief from and embedded ball on the 10th hole as some saw the ball bounce, and eventually Reed had picked it up and marked. Tour officials rendered it legal according to the rules, leading to some speculations. Nevertheless, Reed won at Torrey Pines with the largest margin of his career against Tony Finau, Viktor Hovland, Xander Schauffele, Ryan Palmer and Henrik Norlander.
